Our end of the season
banquet will be held on October 24th at Beebs
Restaurant at the Las Positas Golf Course in
Livermore. In the past the club paid for wine and
beer but, due to the rising cost of holding the
banquet, we will no longer be able to cover
them. Therefore, starting at 5:30PM there will be
a no host bar. If you plan on attending you need
to let Larry Troen know,
925-443-7575, by October 1st if you, or you
and a guest, will be there. Some
good news. The $25.00 fee listed on our
schedule for a guest has
been dropped. Raffle tickets, as
usual, will be sold at 3 for $10.00. This
year we will have 31 great prizes to
raffle off. The last prize raffled will be a
$100 gift certificate at Golfsmith. You need not
be present to win as Larry will be accepting
money for tickets prior to the banquet.
The Executive board has
been discussing next years schedule. It will
be proposed that next years schedule consist
of one tournament per month. Our championship
tournament will remain as two
tournaments on the same
weekend, during it's month, as usual.
This schedule will be discussed with the
membership, who will decide whether to accept it
or not. If accepted we will then need to
decide whether we will take December off,
November and December off or December and January
off.
Also next year, we will
be scheduling 28 players per tournament. The
first 28 to get their checks in on time will
be in the tournament. If your check is received
by Larry after the cutoff date you will be put
into a standby group. Players will be
added from that standby group, as
needed, starting from the
date their checks are received.Over the past
few years Larry has constantly chased down
players to join tournaments, however, next
year - 2010, this will stop as he will
not be able to call and remind anyone
of any upcoming tournaments. If
you wish to play in a East Bay Hackers tournament
in 2010 you will need to get your checks in on
time.
Also, next year the NCGA
will be raising its fees to belong to the
association. Our club fees will reflect that NCGA
increase of $6.00 per year.
The new fees will be;
Returning
single golfer - $91.00
New
single golfer - $101.00
Returning
Couple - $132.00
New
couple - $152.00
